Our Traineeship Programme in Worcestershire 

Fully funded Department for Education initiative providing an individual learning and training experience while enhancing employability skills 
 
Our qualifications are designed to support an individual successfully gaining a job, progressing in a chosen field, preparing the individual for further study and supporting the development of techniques required for successful independent living. 
 
These qualifications are aimed at anyone who wants to live a more independent life, progress in education and/or their employment prospects; get into a job, develop on the job or move onto the next job, as they progress along the career ladder. 
 
The qualifications have been designed in collaboration with a range of experts from various industry sectors, training providers and employment and recruitment professionals to ensure the content matches what is needed and valued by today’s employment market, also meeting the needs for study programmes, Traineeships and TechBacs. 
 
 
16-19 Traineeships in Worcestershire. 
 
Overview:  
 
A Traineeship is an education and training programme which includes work experience. This could help you gain the skills and experience that employers are looking for. 
Our Traineeship programmes are 600 hrs over26 weeks and will be tailored to your individual needs. The programme is likely to include: 
Preparation for work, including help writing a CVs and preparing for interviews; 
Helping you improve your English and maths (if you need it) including Functional Skills English & Maths qualifications; 
Employability skills qualification. 
Experiencing the world of work through a high quality work experience placement which will give you important experience and a valuable reference. 
 
Who are they for? 
Traineeships are aimed at: 
Young people aged 16-19 who are Not in Employment, Education or Training "NEET"; 
Young people who are school leavers; 
Young people who do not currently have the necessary qualifications, skills or experience to secure employment. 
Schools leavers who do not currently have the required Maths and/or English language qualification to progress onto an apprenticeship, college or University. 
Young people aged 16-19 living within the Worcestershire County Council. 
 
What are the benefits: 
A Traineeship will put you in a better position to compete for an apprenticeship or other job. 
You will be able to build your CV and get vital experience with local and national employers. 
You can get help to improve your English and maths skills which will boost your chances of getting a job, as well as improving your long term prospects and your earning potential. 
Employers will be helping you get the skills you need to secure a job and succeed in employment. 
You could get a job interview at the end of the work experience placement - if a role becomes available with the company. Even if one doesn't, you’ll get a reference and an exit interview.
